It is important to act together and in solidarity. As you all know, the current crisis intensifies inequalities and conflicts in many ways. This ranges from the precarious situation of homeless people, refugees, to people who can no longer afford to pay the rent, to the increase in domestic violence, to the issue of labour whose historic day of struggle is May 1st, to thousands of newly unemployed, 70% of the “system-relevant” work done by women, the situation of care workers, working conditions in the social sector, the situation for art and cultural workers, precarious workers, undocumented workers, supermarket workers, unequal pay and much more.
We also see the day as a day of action to point out the current shifts in fundamental rights. It must not be that economic interests are held up above interests of health or political public articulation (e.g. right to demonstrate). Contents and forms of action can and should be colourful and diverse.
Es ist wichtig, gemeinsam und solidarisch zu agieren. Die aktuelle Krise verschärft viele Missstände und Widersprüche vielfach, wie ihr alle wisst. Das reicht von der prekären Situation von Wohnunglosen,
Geflüchteten, hin zu Personen die sich die Miete nicht mehr leisten können, zur verschärfung häuslicher Gewalt, zum Thema der Arbeit deren historischer Kampftag der 1.Mai ist, zu tausenden neuen Arbeitslosen, 70 % der “systemrelevanten” Arbeit die von Frauen gemacht wird, der Situation von Ernehelfer_innen und Pflegekräften, Arbeitsbedingungen im Sozialbereich, Die Lage für Kunst und Kulturarbeiter_innen, prekär Arbeitenden, undokumentiert Arbeitetenden, Supermarktangestellten, die Situation in Carearbeit, ungleiche Bezahlung und vieles mehr.
Wir sehen den Tag auch als Aktionstag um auf die aktuellen Grundrechtsverschiebungen hinzuweisen. Es darf nicht sein dass Interessen von Gesundheit oder politischer öffentlicher Artikulation (zb.: Versammlungsrecht) wirtschaftlichen Interessen untergeordnet werden. Inhalte und Aktionsformen können und sollen bunt und vielfältig sein.
